CEREMONIES
The Private Ceremony.
A single-day, one-to-one ceremony held outdoors in a prepared forest clearing on southern Vancouver Island — or by arrangement, wherever you are.
I currently offer private, one-to-one ceremonies, held outdoors in a prepared forest clearing on southern Vancouver Island (or, by arrangement, at a suitable location wherever you are). This is the most intimate way to work with the medicine and is the format I recommend for those new to this work, those carrying significant trauma, or anyone who values the depth of a fully held private container.
Group ceremonies can be arranged on request for couples, close friends, or small private circles who wish to journey together. Please reach out to discuss.

Intake & Medical Screening
When you first reach out about sitting in ceremony, I will send over an intake form for you to complete. It covers your medical history, current medications, and any conditions that might affect your readiness.
Once the form is back in my hands, we move into the preparation phase and book a private preparation call. On that call we will walk through any concerns, answer your questions, and begin the conversation that becomes the foundation of our work together.

The setting
Ceremonies are held in a private, screened section of forest on southern Vancouver Island. There is no building, no temple, no lodge — by design. The container is the land itself: tall trees, soft earth underfoot, a tended fire circle, an altar laid on a natural cloth.
-
A prepared clearing with shaded shelter
-
Soft, comfortable bedding on the earth — natural materials, fully cleaned between ceremonies
-
Tended candles held by experienced hands
-
Clean water, simple bathroom facilities, and a quiet spot for journaling
-
Full first-aid readiness on site, with a clear plan for transport to the nearest hospital if ever needed
-
Easy transfer from Victoria — full travel and arrival guidance provided once booked
Travel is also available to serve this medicine in suitable settings outside of Vancouver Island. Arrangements are discussed case by case.

Space for questions and integration
From the moment you arrive to the final words of closing, the entire container lasts roughly two to three hours — preparation, the journey itself, and the landing that follows. On the day of the ceremony, you are walked through every part of the experience, nothing is rushed, and you are never alone in the process.
Before you ever step into the clearing, the space has already been readied — physically cleaned and energetically tended. Once you are here, we take time to ground together, to soften into the land, and to voice anything still lingering in the mind. An aromatic plant bath is offered to help create a protective and supportive energetic field for the work ahead. From there we move into simple body and awareness exercises that prepare the nervous system and settle the thoughts. We also rehearse the way the medicine is received, so that when the moment comes, it feels familiar rather than foreign.
The secretion is vaporised and drawn in as breath; the presence of the Spirit Molecule is registered almost instantly and with unmistakable force.
Once the vapour is received, the most intense phase of the journey — often called the peak — begins within seconds and continues for roughly five to twenty minutes.
As the peak recedes, the intensity gradually softens. Subtle reverberations commonly remain noticeable for up to an hour after the inhalation.
Throughout the ceremony I hold the space with live sound — voice and traditional instruments — to guide the unfolding and deepen the medicine's song.
The imprint of the experience does not end when the ceremony closes. The after-resonance of the medicine continues to open doorways for reflection and inner stillness that can extend for months afterward.

Dosage
Every person receives a dose calibrated to them. The amount is set together after the intake conversation, taking into account any earlier work with entheogenic medicines and your individual sensitivity.
If we have not worked together before, we begin with an opening dose — light enough to remain manageable, yet strong enough that the medicine's presence is unmistakable. Depending on how that first meeting unfolds, we may gradually increase in the same session.
The goal is to locate the threshold where the experience is fully potent and you remain consciously anchored throughout. This balance supports deeper, more durable integration; an experience that slips from memory is difficult to weave into daily life, which is why presence during the journey matters for lasting therapeutic value.
Application
The medicine is warmed in a glass pipe until it turns to vapour, then taken in on a single, calm breath drawn out across about twenty to thirty seconds. It moves quickly — you are usually inside the experience within moments of inhaling — and the arc from departure to landing tends to sit somewhere between ten and thirty minutes.
A session is built around three pipes. The first is intentionally light, and each one that follows steps the dose up a little further, working toward what we refer to as the Full Embrace dose. There is no schedule between rounds; we wait until you feel genuinely settled and ready before continuing.
As things soften, it is common for deeper material to surface — stored charge, experiences that were never fully digested, emotions that have been carried for a long time. These can rise into awareness so they can be felt, moved through, and finally let go of.
No two journeys are the same. Your sense of body, time and place may fall away entirely, and as the ego thins you may catch sight of what you are underneath it. Some encounter great surges of emotion or energy, a dissolving of self, a feeling of oneness with everything, or a vivid remembering of who they truly are. Others move through a past memory — sometimes from this life, sometimes seemingly from another — that has been waiting to be completed and released. The terrain can be luminous and blissful, or it can be frightening and disorienting. Nothing is guaranteed, and nothing is expected of how it "ought" to unfold.
When you return and the ego begins to reassemble, it is often seen with new eyes. Having touched something far larger than the self, it becomes easier to recognise the ego as a structure rather than as who you are, to identify with it less, and to live with more room around it. That recognition is where real liberation starts to take root.
During — the presentation and the purge
In a full opening, awareness of the body and of what it is doing tends to drop away almost completely. Bufo carries you through some of the deepest layers of consciousness, into a spaciousness that sits well outside the thinking mind. When the mind and its habitual holding patterns soften, the energies they have been containing are finally free to move.
That movement can look like many things — rocking, trembling, kicking, striking out, spitting, vocalising, weeping, retching, rising up, shifting across the space. Anything can arise. The person inside the medicine usually has little to no sense of what their body is doing at the time, in much the same way that someone walking in their sleep has no memory of it afterwards.
As consciousness opens, the body — the vessel that has carried all of this — is finally able to release the charge and the imprints that have been holding it away from its natural state. This is exactly why an experienced facilitator stays with you the whole way through: so the body is kept safe while you are travelling
Integration — three months of structured care
Week 0 — The first 48 hours. Rest. Sleep. Eat simply. Move gently. Avoid major decisions. Continue journaling. Be in nature whenever possible.
Week 1 — First integration session (90 minutes). We listen for what was met, what was loosened, and what is now asking to be lived. You leave with a clear, simple integration plan for the month ahead.
Month 1 — The most plastic window. Neuroplasticity is heightened. Old patterns are looser. We meet for your second session at the one-month mark.
Month 2 — Living the change. The deeper, slower work of actually changing how you live begins. We stay in contact by email and text.
Month 3 — Closing session. We look back at the arc, name what has changed, and discern what comes next.
